      Каникулярная школа по развитию функциональной грамотности

      On January 13-14, 2022, the Center of Excellence of "Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools" AEO conducted an online Vacation School for teachers of general education schools and regional colleges on the development of functional literacy of students under the conditions of updated educational content. Earlier, in January, more than 3,000 teachers from 10 regions of the country also attended the Vacation School. The participants were familiarized with the types of tasks and research projects on forming theoretical knowledge and its application by students in practice, on development of thinking abilities by solving real life situations.

      During the event the possibilities of formation and development of natural-science and mathematical literacy of schoolchildren were demonstrated. The programs included presentation material and practical tasks for monitoring the achievement of learning objectives. Work with the audience involved interactive methods aimed at improving teachers' practice and considered the integration of mathematical and reading literacy, and creative thinking.

      Sessions focused on the topic of current demands on students' functional literacy and the transformation of subject assignments. The webinar was concluded with feedback and reflection from the audience using the 'Incomplete sentence' and 'Open Mic' methods.
