The research activities of the private institution “Center of Pedagogical Excellence” of AOE “NIS”(hereinafter referred to as CPE) is aimed at identifying the level of professional development of pedagogical personnel in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the introduction of advanced pedagogical ideas into the Kazakhstani system of teachers' professional development.
IMPLEMENTATION OF JOINT RESEARCH PROJECTS WITH LOCAL AND FOREIGN PARTNERS
In order to improve the activities of the CPE and ensure its sustainable development, the Center of Pedagogical Excellence implements joint international and republican scientific projects in the field of advanced training of teaching staff:
- report on research “Impact Study: Center of Excellence Programs”, 2015;
- development and publication of the book by D. Bridges “Reform in education and internationalization in the framework of educational reforms in Kazakhstan”;
- joint research with the University of Cambridge (UK) in the framework of the project “Monitoring and Evaluation of the Implementation of Professional Development Programs of the Center of Pedagogical Excellence”;
- research of the effectiveness of teachers’ training of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Region's - Yugra(RF) educational institutions;
- research within the framework of the agreement concluded between the Kazakhmys Corporation LLP and the CPE, with a focus on determining the professional needs of teachers of secondary schools in Balkhash, Zhezkazgan, Satpayev and Ulytau region.
MONITORING RESEARCH

post-course (during the integration of program ideas into school practice).
Over the period from 2012 to 2020, more than 90 studies were carried out. The results of monitoring studies are annually published in books and brochures of the series “Monitoring studies of the Center of Pedagogical Excellence of the AEO “Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools”. The research materials are used as recommendations for improving and increasing the efficiency of the Kazakhstani system of advanced training for teaching staff, as well as the education system in general.
The CPE also conducts “Action Research” and “Lesson Study” applied research. The CPE employees have published more than 20 articles in scientific journals with an impact factor (Hirsch index/ CiteScore/ Web of science/ Scopus).
In cooperation with the Faculty of Education of the University of Cambridge, the CPE publishes an information and methodological journal “Pedagogical Dialogue” in three languages (Kazakh, Russian, English). The journal highlights the results of fundamental and applied psychological and pedagogical research, methodological recommendations for improving the practice of education. Articles of scientists and education experts from the following countries have been published: Great Britain, USA, Russia, Palestine, Republic of Belarus, Hong Kong, India, Egypt, Kyrgyzstan, and Pakistan. Among them: 23 PhD doctors, professors, candidates of science, 8 masters of science.
