From 10 to 14 February 2020 the workshop with EduCluster Finland (ECF) experts is held for employees of the Center of Excellence.
ECF was established on the base of the University of Jyväskylä, which is in the top world 100 universities in the domain of education. The University is the international center of education excellence in studies of PISA, TIMSS, PIRLS, PIAAC and other international well-known researches. In last 8 years, ECF was attracted to more than 200 international projects.
The objective of the workshop is to develop the comprehension of functional literacy (as defined in OECP PISA objectives), which includes Mathematics, Science, reading and creative thinking. In the process of the workshop, various types of the functional literacy will be studied and an assignment development integrated with a discipline content will be realized.
The following experts will take part in the workshop: Dr. Inka Aalto, instructor of Teacher Training School, University of Jyväskylä, member of Finland examination board; Professor Emeritus Jouni Välijärvi , Director of the Finnish Institute for Educational Research at the University of Jyväskylä, national director of OECP PISA projects during 19 years, member of various expert groups of OECD, EU; Dr. Olli-Pekka Malinen , a leading expert in ECF with extensive experience in the field of professional development of teachers, international educational policy and inclusive education; Dr. Jan Lundell , Professor of Chemistry Department at the University of Jyväskylä, director LUMA Center, expert of scientific education in the ICT domain and in-service training of Science teachers; Dr. Juha Oikkonen , Professor Emeritus Mathematics and Statistics Department at Helsinki University, Acting Deputy Director of the Scientific and Educational Center, founder of the Center of Mathematics.
