On May 15, 2020 another corporate training on the theme “Seven ideas of modern education development” was provided for the staff of AEO “Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools”. It was held in the form of the webinar. The speakers of the webinar were the trainers of the Center of Excellence Talgat Mukutov and Tolegen Nugerbayev.
The theme of the webinar was not accidental. In modern society, there is a growing divergence of views on how educat ion should be developed, and what skills and competences does a teacher need? Social isolation showed us that every teacher needs advanced level of IT – competencies, and who also should have and be able to apply methods and tools for achieving efficiency in any forms of training.
Within the webinar, the presentation on the key ideas of proposed topic was introduced. The speakers paid special attention to the discussion of the position of Klaus Martin Shwab, the founder of the World Economic Forum, who presented his views in the book «Technologies of the Industrial Revolution». Thus, in considering the role of technology in industry, he pointed to the necessity of changing social rules and established norms.
Based on K. Schwab’s theses, the speakers asked the audience what changes and adjustments are needed in Kazakhstani schools, considering the pandemic and the worldwide quarantine? The discussion focused on the experience of distance learning and ideas for developing modern education: How do we refill the education? What can we do? What needs to be saved? What do we have?
In general, the webinar allowed the audience to see the current situation in education, to exchange ideas and to elicit positive responses.
