The conference started with an exposition displaying 72 posters on research carried out by teachers. In the plenary part of the conference Peter Dudley, Honorary General Secretary of the World Association of Lesson Studies (WALS) and Professor of the University of Leicester, welcomed participants and emphasised the importance of developing the Lesson Study approach at schools and sharing research findings among teachers at such dialogue venues.
The conference speakers raised the issues of teachers' self-identification and development of their research skills (Professor of the Nazarbayev University GSE Duishon Shamatov), the need for a systematic approach to research (expert Sapura Zholdasbayeva), the results of exploring the Lesson Study approach in Kazakhstan and promising areas in teacher research practice (trainer Kyzzhibek Abdramanova).
For the first time, the section "Non-Children's Research in Kindergarten" was organised for heads, methodologists and teachers of kindergartens. At sectional venues in six different areas were presented 85 performances. At the end of the conference, the participants were handed certificates and the schools actively promoting the Lesson Study approach in Kazakhstan received letters of appreciation.
