Around a thousand school teachers from all regions of the country, as well as Kazakhstani and foreign scientists and experts took part in the round table. They discussed issues about artificial intelligence in education, how it develops, what digital competencies a modern teacher should have and what the school of the future should be.
How will the relationship between the key players in education – those who teach and those who learn – change? Can artificial intelligence help a teacher? What new opportunities and perspectives does it open up for the teacher? Kulyash Shamshidinova, Chairperson of the Board of the AEO “NIS” expressed her opinion on this.
Svetlana Ispussinova, Deputy Chairperson of the Board of the AEO “NIS” drew the participants' attention to the importance of new professional skills and abilities of a teacher in the era of artificial intelligence.
David Marsh, an invited education expert, director of innovation and outreach at EduCluster Finland, of the University of Jyväskylä (Finland) Group, shared his valuable experience. In his speech, he emphasized that artificial intelligence is a good helper and a valuable tool for improving teaching.
The speakers' speeches were notable for their informational richness. Amandip Singh Gill, a professor from Switzerland, spoke about the future of digital technologies in education; Dinara Beisembayeva, Ambassador of the Global Peace Teacher Prize, Winner of the National Teacher of Kazakhstan 2020 Prize, presented the results of a study on the impact of digital technologies on the quality of school practice. Jakhongir Gapparov, a school teacher from Kostanay, spoke about the ways to use artificial intelligence tools in Physics classes.
Concluding the round table, Kulyash Nogatayevna expressed her gratitude to all the participants for a constructive discussion of issues and noted that it is important for a teacher to understand how to use artificial intelligence effectively and properly for a high-quality teaching, what digital skills and abilities are necessary for successful work. Emphasizing the indispensability of the teacher, she highlighted such life values as politeness, respect for elders, love of Motherland, a sense of duty, honesty, solidarity and mutual assistance, which can only be formed by a teacher.
